  • Overall I love the ROM. Easy location to get to either driving or by transit. There is a mix of old and new and in recent years the ROM has become much more than just a museum. If you haven't had the opportunity to try Friday Night Live (FNL) at the ROM, well you don't know what you are missing! Partying with a dinosaur? How can you not love that?! Today I visited the ROM because I was doing a Murder Mystery at the ROM by Urban Capers (review for them coming up!). This scavenger hunt made me realize just how diverse the ROM is without being overwhelming. Pieces/artifacts are laid out well, there is enough information about each piece and there is definitely something for everyone - from ancient civilizations to jewellry (check out some of those diamonds!!) My one issue is the front - it can get packed - stand in line to buy tickets, then stand in another line to get admitted into the ROM. Why can't this step be put together? The front isn't big enough to accommodate crowds. Or have those self service machines like they have at the movie theatre? There is a cafe and restaurant but I didn't try them this time so I can't comment on the as mst likely the food/service has changed since my last visit. Keep checking the website for any events or exhibits. Keep in mind that the exhibits are an extra cost. If you think you will visit the ROM a few times then you may want to buy a membership - I believe it's only about $100 or abouts. That's a few FNL nights and a visit to the ROM and you are already ahead!
