Every last Sunday of the month, Chaiya Monastery throws a mini food fair to raise funds for their temple. Not Buddhist? Doesn't matter. All are welcome to try a variety of delicious and authentic Asian/Thai food, some of which you've probably never encountered. This is a pretty modest event held under their covered parking spaces with some tables for guests to sit and enjoy their purchases. Or if you're like me who lives nearby, take the food home with you. Try to get there earlier in the morning. Even though the event ends at 1pm, I had the experience of getting there past noon and the food's all gone. With plenty of food under $5, your money goes a long way here. Love their pork barbecue, sweet roti with condensed milk, meatball soup with rice noodles along with the plethora of desserts and rice cakes. Looking forward to next month!
