  • Oh baby. I had one of Sausage King's lunch sausage dogs. They say these are king sized sausages. That didn't and still doesn't mean anything to me. However, at $3.99 for an incredibly delicious, piping hot sausage dog, this was a steal. They had three versions available that day: beer bratwurst, brick lane chicken, and ginger beef. I asked which one they recommended. I was told they don't like recommending things, but that their most popular was beer bratwurst and they didn't have the ginger beef. I was trying to decide between brick lane chicken and ginger beef, so that basically took care of my dilemma for me. I got the brick lane chicken. It came with a chicken sausage I'm guessing was tikka masala spiced, apricot chutney, and fried onions. The sausage was juicy, the bun was soft, and the fried onions added a delightful crunch. I love street meat, but this takes the cake. If sausage dogs cost over $4 on the street and only have basic toppings, why would I get those when I can get this? I was so happy after having this that I texted my brother to let him know about it. He told me to bring one home for him. I would have, but I had half a day of food adventuring to go before I got home, and that poor dog would have been a mess by the time I got home. Oh well. That just means I have an excuse to come back, not that I need one... Did I mention there was NO lineup at lunchtime? Someone please explain to me why this place isn't super busy all the time. Cheap eat for sure, and a fantastic one at that!
