Haircuts are serious business in this desert heat. Get the wrong one and you will end up a hot mess! Start off with the right one, well it's smooth sailing all summer.
I'm super particular about my hair. I used to have shiny, straight with a little bit of thickness to my tresses. Then I turned 15 and I wound up with the ultimate wavy and thick, dry mane. It's been a love hate relationship with my hair ever since. I had many different styles that seem to work well with this hair of mine. So I tend to keep my style within a certain realm of styles. Can't mess with what works.
Finding the right stylist and having a great salon experience is a difficult task since I kept moving and my budget dwindled. Usually it's been hit or miss. The last salon I would return to in the OC would run me up $90 for haircut and style. Although it was worth every penny, I had to start saving $$ with this darn recession and all. So lo and behold, I found Satya Aveda at the San Tan Village Mall. The Aveda experience is an absolute spa experience. From the oils to the massage and makeup (yes, they make you pretty before you leave the salon) to the detail care they take with each customer. I can't believe it only cost $35! It made me cringe to think I spent twice the amount in the past with mediocre salons, only to leave thinking, "it's only hair it'll grow back."
I have to be honest, I was not happy about my cut. I was a bit apprehensive with the look. My stylist and the salon in general were very understanding about my need to have it done the way I wanted. So I returned another day and ended up with a 'do I was comfortable with.
I gave this salon 3 stars because the spa treatment you receive during your appointment and they were patient with my need to fix the first cut. Let's not forget the products!! Aveda always had the most ah-mazing product lines.
