| - Breakfast and lunch cafe with good coffee (each order receives its own French Press!). It's a vegetarian cafe, but don't let that scare you away. The food is very good.
I blindly stumbled upon this place without a clue as to what it was about. So, as I was perusing the menu -- scanning, scanning -- I was anxiously asking myself, "Where's the meat?!" Ahhh...ok; there is none. I played it cool though, like I knew this fact already, and I ordered the In Season Scramble for $8.
When my meal arrived (see picture), I was blown away! This was hearty...and delicious! Meat be damned! Who needs it? This was great stuff. The portion was generous; the flavors were exciting -- fresh and yet savory. Even the toast was very good. Oh, and the Harvest (potato & sweet potato) Hash...excellent!
The coffee was good too. They give each order it's own French Press with a mini hourglass: when the sand runs out, press down and enjoy. The coffee roast is a lot lighter than what I typically drink. It wasn't smoky or bold; instead it was light with pleasant fruit backnotes. It wasn't bad, but perhaps a hearty French Roast in the French Press would be perfect.
Overall, I'm a fan. I'll be back. I can put aside my carnivorous ways occasionally and support the Pomegranate Cafe's local, organic (and flavorful) philosophy. I wish this place the best.
