I found this place because my mom was craving liver and onions. Upon arrival, it didn't look like much from outside, but once you go in, you encounter old world charm. My mom who's originally from Germany fell in love with the style of this restaurant/bar. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and were seated. Thereafter the owner followed up and recommended the special of the day- 3 tacos made with prime rib. I ordered the special and my mom ordered the liver and onions. The food was delicious- my mom is picky and she loved her food. My tacos were outstanding- the meat perfectly cooked and so tender- they came with an avocado-garlic mayo which was to die for- and also rice pilaf which I did not like- it was a bit salty.
The owner offered drinks from the bar- however we had coffee and water.
They have daily specials at great prices.
Pros & cons
Pros- the owner is very attentive and he genuinely cares about his customers. I noticed all of the staff working together to get their jobs done and they all smiled. The restaurant was clean, and tables bussed immediately. The food is superb, the meat is fresh and tender. The bar appears to offer many different beers and drinks. Great vibe throughout and they have an outdoor seating area right at the front entrance.
There is also a larger dining area towards the back which was well lit.
Cons- it was a little dark when you first walk in-front dining room- low ceilings contribute to this, the bathroom is a bit small and not handicap friendly ( my mom uses a walker and it was very hard to get into the larger stall) and there was a sewer odor in the restroom. No lemon offered for my water.
We will definitely be returning when we are in the area; we found a new favorite.
