So.....I needed somewhere to go and study and looked on Yelp for a recommendation. I found this place and, though I knew nothing about it, I liked the pictures and I love all things Ethiopian.
I got an iced tea and a couple of sambusas and took a seat by the window. The guy behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. He came over in a little bit to ask me how the sambusas were and I told him, truthfully, they were delish and I could probably eat a dozen a day.
A little while later I was feeling hungry and when he walked by I asked him if they had soups. He said that no they didn't but mentioned some dish he had just brought to another table. It is called mudammas. It's a fava bean, tomato, jalapeno and feta dish served with a side of pita bread. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. This is my new favorite food! He brought me over a complimentary refill on the excellent spiced tea. Yummy and inexpensive, I may have found my new coffee shop favorite.
