  • I lived here for a year and a half. I left to go back to the Bay Area in 2013. (sorry for the late post, but keep reading and you will understand why.) Everything went smoothly. I lived in a 2bd 2bth with my dog. I absolutely loved the apartment size, the fact it had storage and a built in washer dryer. I even had a deck. Not much of a view, but hey it was a place to BBQ and chill. One day about halfway through my stay I was in my huge walk in closet picking out something to wear. I'm not sure if it was me or my dog or a ghost but the door shut. I paid it no mind, went about my business. Got dressed and put on some cologne. Went to open the door and the nob kept turning. W T F! My heart sank. I did not have my phone and I lived alone. If I screamed my neighbors would probably think i'm yelling at the damn SF GIANTS or something. I tried everything to get that door open even CC's in through the gap. I couldn't unscrew it because the door needed to be open to do that. The door opened in, so there was no way I could smash it down without seriously injuring my shoulder. My ONLY option was to put my hand under the door through a narrow gap and pull the (cheap door) bottom left corner of the door up until it broke. Then I could reach up and turn the knob from the outside. Right after I did that, I contacted the office and told them my situation. Of course they were a bit skeptical so they said that the maintenance guy (JOSE) would come take a look. Jose inspected it and agreed that I was locked in and had to break the door to get out. He changed the doorknob and assured me I would not be charged. He told the office and I want to say her name is Camerion or something like that, also said that I would not be charged. Months later, I end up getting a job offer back in the bay. So I move out, send them my keys and that was that. My rent was paid on time and I even had the plan professional cleaned before I left. Back in January I apply for an apartment in Silicon Valley and get denied. They said I have a bad history with a previous landlord. Something showed up on my credit report she says. So I get my report and there is a Claim from Summerhill Pointe for $525.00 from 2014 that is now in collections. I contacted Summerhill Pointe and they told me it was because of a door that was broken in the apartment. I told them what happened and the manager said, she would look into it but there was nothing she could do since it had already gone to collections. I asked her why I wasn't contacted and the women said I was emailed. I searched all my emails and there was NOTHING from them aside from the initial emails prior to me moving in. The Manager never got back to me. I also have this on my record for god knows how long and it was because of the negligence of the apartment, not me. I was the one locked in the closet because of a crappy nob they put not he door. Poor customer service from a very unprofessional management that lacks respect for their tenants. If I were to move back to Vegas I would not move here.
