  • The Desert Botanical Garden remains one of the best options to experience the beauty and wonder of the Sonoran Desert. Located in the center of Papago Park and convenient to most Valley locations, the gardens are open early for cooler weather and more wildlife. The lush and well maintained gardens showcase various desert landscapes including many different cacti and various plants. There are gardens to attract butterflies and several scenic vistas of the surrounding mountains and cityscape. The gardens also have some Native American displays showing the regional history. During the holidays, the garden offers evening walks lit with holiday lights and luminarias which make for an excellent date night. Special programs and tours are given throughout the year. Desert Botanical Garden is simply the easiest way to experience the unique beauty of the desert while remaining close to your house or hotel in Phoenix. The gardens are open to the heat and rain so be prepared for either. You will love it!
