  • I've been to this festival since it first came out in 2013 and have made it an effort to go every year after it's inaugural year (with exception to 2016 but that was because I was abroad for 6 months :P). Out of all the major festivals I've been to (i.e. Coachella, EDC, FYF etc etc), I have to say this is not only my top favorite music/art event but also the most underrated festival in my opinion. Besides clear differences you see in their marketing campaigns such as comedy, art and learning, what sets this festival apart from other ones the most is its use of space in Downtown Vegas. They block off quite a few blocks in the Downtown Vegas area just for the festival, making it feel like your own little city or playground. Because the space is so massive, there's lots of places to sit and chill inside air conditioned buildings AND outside without it feeling so crowded. There's also a section called The Container Park, where the shops and businesses there are still open for attendees. Another things that's really cool is that if you need to meet up with your friends, you can just say meet me at "Fremont and 8th" vs. at other festivals it's something random (e.g. meet me at the Daisy at EDC LOL). I also think they do a great job with event logistics. There are cooling stations/areas to rest. Line and security to get in to the festival goes by really quick. Also, there's never really a line to get water at their water stations (if you've gone to other major festivals, getting water here is basically HEAVEN). They also do a really great job setting up all their vendors and sponsors! Speaking of vendors and sponsors, they also bring in some of the coolest companies. At the most recent one, Dove Chocolate was there with a VR station and passing out free chocolates. Zappos had a super cool set-up with fun swings that were super insta/snapchat worthy. Talenti Gelato was there in a truck passing out free scoops of their ice cream. A newer fruit snack company called "Nothing But Fruit" passed out their snacks but also did a cool tasting with their snacks. Toyota had two spots at the festival, where they had their own Music Den featuring DJS, passed out bandanas and other cool things that I honestly forgot (lol my bad) while of course featuring their cars. The list can still go on and on but you get the idea. They also bring in awesome food vendors and food trucks as well and the lines are pretty decent. As for the music and stages, it's usually 1 main stage outside, 1 outside stage that's just a TAD smaller than the main one, 1 huge tent for EDM artists and 1 smaller stage outside. Since this festival is picking up momentum, crowds can get pretty squished but the music and lights are still enjoyable. Their use of lights are pretty similar to Coachella but I did really like how they set up the main stage where there's giant screens all around (Fun Fact: Muse at the main stage was AMAZING with all the graphics and effects they put on the screen). Last thing I want to mention is that they're always making tweaks and improvements to this festival. As I mentioned before, I've gone to this festival since it first started and have personally experienced how they're always adding different features and readjusting certain aspects of the event, which is nice because not every year is the same. Other miscellaneous notes: 1) Tickets are a tad cheaper than other major festivals & 2) The event is from 2pm-1am so you still have energy to enjoy Vegas during the day.... and even maybe check out a day club LOL I don't really know how else to describe my experience at the festival in a condensed essay but all I can say is that if you have a free weekend in September and/or love music festivals as much as I do, definitely check this one out because you definitely won't regret it!
