| - It pains me to say, but I do love Whole Foods. They are great at providing healthy, local produce and all around awesomeness. My only knock on them is that the prices are outrageous! But, so it goes.
They have everything your little heart could desire.
The meat counter is absolutely amazing - fresh meats, amazing bacon, they have their own smoker. Again, the prices are the only thing that are a drawback.
OMG the cheese department! I think I wet myself everytime I go near it. They have cheeses I have never heard of...and this cool little basket where you can get cheap(ish), smaller samples of different cheeses so you can try different things without having to buy a big block. Pair this with the wine selection, and you can host one hell of a party!
They have come a LONG way with their beer department. I was really excited when they added a the growler filling station and allow you to fill either 32 or 64 ounce bottles and have about 4 beers on tap. The only thing that would make it cooler is if it were like Khoury's and you could sit there and enjoy a pint or 2 - I mean, you can eat, why not drink?
Of course, the salad bar area is just nuts. But be careful, I believe you pay by weight and it can get a little out of control before you know it!
The absolute best part of the store is the bulk section. I have tried new things I have found there (hello, forbidden rice), and I always go back for the raspberry yogurt covered pretzels, spicy mix, dark chocolate covered milk balls, and lots of other goodies.
Also, the service is ALWAYS super friendly. I genuinely believe that every single Whole Foods employee loves their job and is happy to be at work. It may not be glamorous being a cashier, but you'd never know it by the smiles on their faces!
They would easily be 5 stars if they could just bring the prices down a bit.
