First ice cream stop while being back in Toronto! Came with my family of 9 on a Sunday evening, and between all of us, we almost had 1 scoop of every flavor in the shop!
I always love the unique flavors so I opted for the basil lime gelato in a cup which was definitely interesting! The basil and lime flavors were mild and probably what the confectioner intended it to taste like. My only qualm was the icy texture, perhaps it was the consequence of choosing a popular flavor and having one of the last scoops at the bottom of the tub - even so, this was disappointing. The texture of the gelato was stiff - when I attempted to spoon off a delightful first bite, my spoon got stuck, and with a bit more force, I ended up sending a chunk of gelato flying onto the pavement. Majorly sad! Some of the next few spoonfuls had inconsistency in texture, some smooth and some a bit more icy.
Service: Perhaps it was the sudden arrival of our large group (half children under 10) that was intimidating, but one of the staff was just so unfriendly and gave the tiniest sample of ice cream that your pallet and saliva glands didn't even have a chance.
Mediocre ice cream and semi-unfriendly staff, not sure if I'll go back.
