| - I really wanted to love these guys. I hear about them all the time on talk radio (Mike Broomhead Show), and have been happy with all the other advertisers there like Zerorez & Blue Sky. When we moved back to AZ, I was debating on going back to Blue Sky, since they were awesome, but didn't want to pay their "Initial service" fee of I think $150. Green Mango charges this same fee but will wave it with a referral card.. thank you co-worker. So first service was free, BUT you have to do I think 7 services with them or they will charge you for it. I don't like contracts for services (because you can't get out if they suck) but okay I did it. The technician was nice but not nearly as professional looking or acting as their advertisements lead you to believe. I also had a direct comparison with Blue Sky and they were as professional as they say, Green Mango.. not so much. Kind of turned off by this but okay.
Second spray I had the exact problem that so many people here have mentioned.. I wanted the technician to come inside as well so I planned to be home. No call, no show, wasted my entire day. Best part is I tried calling and couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone or to call me back. When I finally got them it was the same story.. technician was out sick and they didn't have coverage, phone system was having problems (this was at least 6+ months ago). To be fair, they did give me that service for free but I would have rather had my day back than the free service but at least they tried.
What FINALLY prompted me to write a review is that we had seen a few earwigs in the house and wanted to see when our next spray was. It took 2 or 3 days to get someone to pick up the phone to schedule. When I finally got them we scheduled it for the following week. This is also when I found out about the "7 total services" portion.
When the day finally came, I wanted to make sure I was home and didn't miss the tech so I called to see if they had a time estimate. Guess what? Yep, no answer... tried several times to call. I didn't leave a message this time because I am paying them, not the other way around. When you are paying for a "premium" service, they should answer the phone, or at least have a phone system that lets you hold instead of leaving a message. The technician did show up and did a fine job.. dressed in worn out uniforms as all the Green Mango guys are. (I wonder where the guy in all their advertisements is? Paid actor?) I don't think the technicians are bad. I think they are all very young and probably just thrown out there with a very lax dress code. They aren't unprofessional but they are polished either. This is a management issue, mainly in the office.
Long story short, when my 7 services are up (3 to go) I will be cancelling and probably going back to Blue Sky. They are the kind of place that you feel proud to have parked in front of your place. Green Mango makes you feel like it's your teenage son's friend coming over.
