  • Phoenix Sky Habor bills itself as "Americas Friendliest Airport" - that's a pretty tall order to fill. Unlike most, they offer free wi-fi and the signal actual works. That's pretty friendly to travelers, I guess. Otherwise, it's a pretty average airport but not laid out very well - there are long walks between concourses making it hard to transfer if you have a short layover. Once in the concourse, the gates are crammed together meaning seating is in short supply and bathrooms are crowded. On the plus side, the airport is fairly close to Downtown and Scottsdale. On the minus side, they charge absolutely exorbitant taxes on rental cars (even by airport standards).
