  • Just moved permanently to Calgary so this was my first hair cut here. A friend recommended this place so I went. In terms of parking there is a small impark lot on the corner of Centre St. and 2nd Ave that only accepts credit cards and there's another lot beside Sakana. It will be a bit of a chore to locate on your first try, but I'll help you out. Look for U & Me restaurant, take the stairs up to the second floor and hang a left. Hair City is at the end of the hallway. Got an appointment and showed up 10 minutes early but they didn't start cutting until half an hour after the appointment time (This was a Sunday afternoon). Nevertheless, my stylist (Alice) was very friendly and outgoing. I showed her a picture on my phone of roughly the style I wanted and we discussed it before she started. I opted out of shampoo but it only saved me $2 in the end. 45 minutes later she was done and I was satisfied with the result. In total I paid $32 for the cut and $3 in tips for a grand total of $35. Pretty much double what I was used to paying back in Richmond but I have no complaints!
