| - This review is for the used car department and the service area where the trade-in vehicles are inspected before the vehicles are resold.
I just bought a vehicle on Sunday from Tempe Honda. Steve, my sales guy was easy going. Low pressure. And went and did my negotiating with the sales manager.
The people that do the vehicle inspections before resale - FAIL! These people are supposed to inspect each trade-in prior to be offered for re-sale. If you're buying from a dealership, you expect each vehicle to be in perfect order.
Issue #1 - I find a chip/crack in the windshield, driver's side - dead center. Hazard. Its written up in a work order, prior to signing, that they're to fix the windshield on their dime Cool. I'm happy with that.
Issue #2 - Granted, I did not start up the vehicle myself until I was getting ready to drive off. So that was bad on me. The sales guy started it up for the test drive - which I drove it for a good 5 miles or so. After purchasing/signing/etc, I go to leave in my "new" vehicle. I jump in and cant get the key to turn. The sales guy says, on the older key is a little tricky. Here, let me turn it over for you. He swaps keys, and starts it up for me. I shut it down and try myself. Took a second, but I got the "new" key to work. I drive it on home.
Now when it came to me trying to leave for work yesterday morning, it took me 5 freaking minutes to get EITHER key to work. Because I was in meetings all day long, my mother, who was with me at the time of purchase, made the necessary phone calls and relayed information. Tempe Honda will be fixing the issue, and on their dime.
3.5 stars for Used Car Sales
2 stars for service inspection group.
---------------------
Just as an FYI on used car sales - when it says their prices are "no-haggle", that's not entirely correct. ESPECIALLY if you're doing a cash purchase. Oh and a car buying tip in general if you're financing - Steer clear of the Four-Square! (not the pc/phone app for check-in into a location)..
Don't focus on your monthly payment lowered. Work them down on the actual price of the vehicle! Yeah, they'll say...well where would you like to be with your monthly payment? Don't fall into that trap. Negotiate down the sales price of the car - BEFORE TAXES! The lower the price, the cheaper the taxes will be.
