| - Well. I joined this gym for 1 month because I had some time off and was in Toronto to visit my family. So I figured I'd keep training and signed up with Rev MMA on a month to month. Now this place is very expensive. I think my 1 month cost about $250. Can't remember the exact number but it was close to that. The gym is really big. They have 3 main training areas, a small octagon and a boxing ring. They have a small gym as well which includes free weights, treadmills, ellipticals etc. Well. the training staff here is really good and they do know their stuff. They do have BJJ and MMA classes but I kind of got the feel that they focused more on the standup Muay Thai / kickboxing aspect. A lot of the BJJ classes are Gi only but there are a couple NoGi classes. They do boxing, kickboxing, MMA, Israli defence classes which are really cool.
The class starts off with about 20 minutes of jump rope to get your heart going. You'll then pair off with a partner and start doing lessons. My cardio was already pretty good from doing MMA for 2 years but after joining Rev MMA, it jumped up quite a bit.
There is a wrestling class which is only on the weekend so you won't learn a lot of the wall work and take downs / take down defenses.
A cool thing about Rev MMA is that Carlos Newton is one of the instructors so you get to train with a former UFC champion. They also bring in a bunch of UFC fighters such as Rich Franklin, Wanderlai Silva, etc.
They also have a lot of training gear so you don't have to go look somewhere else for boxing gloves, sparring gear, fight shorts, etc. It's all there.
