| - I got my septum pierced here on 2/28. I had done TONS of research on which shops were best in Phoenix since it's my first "adventurous" piercing (the others being double earlobes regrettably done with a piercing gun at a certain major grocery and retail chain..) I read lots of reviews on the cleanliness and skill of Halo, and even contacted the business through Facebook to ask about starter jewelry options. I had heard that some of the employees here were a bit rude, so I was nervous more for that than for the actual piercing process - In the end I had nothing at all to worry about!!
The response I received from Facebook was very informative (the employee even double checked their stock and replied again a few days after to update me on some new pieces that came in a new shipment!) When I actually went in for the piercing, I arrived about 15 minutes before the shop opened. I'm glad I did as there was already a line for the door. I came prepared with an ID and the knowledge of exactly what I wanted, which made for quick paperwork and jewelry selection process. The woman at the front desk had a very straightforward personality, but she was still very nice at the same time, and even joked with me a bit about some of her own piercing experiences.
I specifically chose to go on a Sunday so I would get Ana as my piercer, after reading multiple wonderful reviews of her work. True to reputation, she was delightful and absolutely put me at ease. She talked about all sorts of amusing things while prepping the room, which calmed my nerves - and she even made my very conservative mother who accompanied me chuckle a bit and relax. I think Ana changed gloves at least six times during the process, sterilizing every possible surface in between. I was thoroughly informed of the risks and complications of my piercing, as well as the aftercare process and expectations. She also informed me of what she was about to do each step of the way so I would know what to expect. The process was simple, clean, and quick, and again - her demeanor was so reassuring that I didn't worry a bit! Even though I forgot to specifically ask, she widened my jewelry for me so I could easily flip it up, and then taught me how in a mirror and made sure I could do it safely for myself before I left.
Overall my experience here was wonderful! The employees were so helpful, and they really made a process that I was slightly scared about very enjoyable and easy! I felt confident in the cleanliness and expertise of the business itself, and trusted them every step of the way. If I had one complaint it would be the non-advertised pricing - the jewelry is expensive here (it is also high quality, so I don't mind paying more for it) but it would have been nicer to know before going in for the piercing that the entire process would cost around eighty dollars. The prices of jewelry are not listed anywhere on their website, which I understand since their stock changes frequently, but it would be nice if general estimates were easier to come by. But aside from that I very highly recommend this shop, especially if you are going for a first piercing of any kind - they are knowledgeable and good at what they do!
