I took my 66-year-old mother and 69-year-old father to Billy Joel as their Christmas present. My friend and his mother jouned us. We were dancing and enjoying the show until we were harassed by an irate woman in the row behind us. She screamed at us for dancing and called us a slew of derogatory names including "c*nt" and "b*tch."
I tried to reason with her by saying, "its a concert! Lets have fun and dance!" She continued to berate me so I asked her man to please calm her down. I even offered to switch rows with the aggressive couple, which she declined by getting the row behind her to yell at me and my parents. They all started screaming "Get the f*** out" and called my dad a "fat a**."
The situation grew physical. She threw a beer in my and my mom's face. My dad was screaming, "Don't hurt my daughter! Get your hands off my daughter!" and stepped in to protect me. I have bruises all over my legs and backside from being thrown down and my hand is clearly sprained.
Security physically grabbed my family, my friend and his mother and threw us out.
As we are drenched in beer being detained and questioned by at least 10 security guards and cops, I watched the aggressive couple run past and escape down the escalator. Why weren't they detained and thrown out? They started it!
A security guard takes my name and # for "official records." I was compliant. 30 minutes after being kicked out, I get a text from an unknown # and it turned out to be the security guard named "Deliverance." I asked, "who's this?" He replies, "Lol the security officer who asked for your number.... You sexy i had to get your number." And then he says, "We gone hook up? Because i want sum of that nice ass."
Never in my life have I been assaulted for dancing.
Never in my life have I been detained by security for dancing.
Never in my life have I been thrown out of a place for dancing.
Never in my life have I been sexually harassed by a security guard for dancing.
Shame on those belligerent patrons and TWC Arena security.
