  • I couldn't agree more with Dave B's review. My boyfriend and I came here thinking about adopting a kitten for our new home and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived, we were immediately introduced to Mary-Kaye, one of the volunteers. She listened to what we were looking for and was absolutely incredible every step of the way. When we picked out our little one, we weren't able to bring her home yet because she was not yet spayed. To help us stay connected with her during the next two weeks, Mary-Kaye sent us daily photos, sometimes several a day with an update on how she was doing. She even let us come by during non-business hours to help us get better acquainted with our kitty. She truly went above and beyond what we expected to make this process wonderful for us. As for the care taking and well-being of the animals they have, I saw nothing but true love and care for every single animal in there. Every enclosure had plenty of toys, food/water and necessities they needed to make the lifestyle as comfortable as possible for all their animals. I've heard horror stories of shelters where the animals are not treated with much love and ABC could not be more opposite of that. Before they even let us come home with our little one, they paid us a home visit to make sure she would be coming to a loving home. They also ensured she had all of her blood tests and vaccines before she was put in our care. Yes - there are animals there that might be there forever, but that is not at the fault of the volunteers there. Each of those animals are still given everything they need to be well-cared for and healthy. I will forever recommend this shelter to anyone who is looking to add a new furry friend to their family, and we will definitely be back here when we are looking to adopt again. You will be treated with respect and you can be sure that everyone at ABC will do everything they can to make sure you and your new pet are taken care of.
