Fantastic hike with amazing views all the way up but even better at the top! I didn't do a ton of research for the trail but had heard it was a great way to get beautiful views of Phoenix and Scottsdale so I gave it a shot! I'm by no means an avid hiker so I'd say I'm an amateur at best. The limited research I did turned up mixed designations as to the difficulty of the hike. After completing the hike I'd say it is at least moderate and as you get close to the summit it's probably closer to difficult unless you hike all the time. You do have to do some slight scaling of rocky cliff faces to get to the very top.
I'd recommend going early in the morning as the desert sun gets hot very quickly and it also gets crowded.
Again, this was a challenge but not unmanageable and the view from the top was more than worth it.
It also helped that everyone you pass on the hike is friendly and willing to provide guidance and tips on which ways to go or what to look out for.
If I'm back in the area I will most certainly be doing this hike again!!!
