We found this hotel on Hotels.com for the location and price. We were able to walk all over Uptown and even to NoDa and Plaza Midwood with ease.
Pros
*The hotel is across the street from the NASCAR Hall of Fame, one block from the Convention Center and light rail and less than one mile to the EpiCentre.
*The hotel offers a free shuttle service to anywhere within 3 miles until 11pm. Our shuttle driver (4/2/16 at 6pm) was amazing. He told us about Charlotte and the changes going on in Uptown. He also shared places we should check out and other useful information. Thank you, for your genuine care and candid conversation. We truly appreciate it.
*There is a gym and a pool. The gym has brand new equipment (with individual TVs attached) and also has weight balls, water and towels. The hotel even offers head phones. There was also a bathroom right off the gym area that included toiletries, magazines and a scale.
*Hot coffee is out all day. Hot tea is out in the morning and replaced with ice tea and water at some point during the day. They put out amazingly delicious cookies at night.
*The bed has adjustment settings to allow you to have a soft or firm feel.
*The microwave and mini fridge are located on a separate bar-like area with a mini Keurig
*A charging station is on the night stand
*The alarm clock has multiple adapters to plug in a phone for music.
*The shower was huge (I was in an accessible room)
*The parking garage was connected to the hotel making access easy.
*All the hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons
*The gym was super small. It was probably the size of a modest master bathroom. If someone were to fall off a treadmill they would have hit a wall. Although there are weighted balls I'm not sure where you could use them; maybe in the hallway. Two of us went in then two more came in. When the fifth person came in there was no where for him to go. I say this because within 30 mins it was packed. Maybe with this popularity the hotel should consider a bigger location for the gym.
*Our bathroom was accessible. This wasn't a probably except that the shower head was about 4 feet from the ground. It is on an adjustable arm, however ours was broken. When you try to raise it the head would just slide down. I would have called for help but when I realized it was broken I was already in the shower.
I will definitely be back!! You can see the attention to detail and pride they take in ensuring they think of every possible guest need. I usually stay at Marriotts but will now start looking at Hiltons when I travel.
