  • I had written this e-mail to Nissan on 11/16/15, since I have not heard a response back from the GM to try and make the situation right, do not deal with this location. Now, I can't speak for the sales or parts department - but I would avoid the service department. I own a 2014 Nissan Altima SV, and one day, upon my arrival at work, I noticed a ticking sound coming through my steering wheel, I didn't think anything of it, however when I got in my car later that evening I noticed the sound whenever I stopped, and the car was idling. I tried to diagnose it myself, but no matter what I did- the ticking continued. I decided to make a service appointment, and the reason was "multi point inspection. I made the appointment with Robert Rattner for 1:30pm on Friday, November 6th. I was greeted in a way, that I could describe as bothersome, to Mr. Rattner. I looked past it as I was more concerned about getting my car fixed. I explained my concern to him and what was happening, the noise was not present at the time of arrival, but I took a video of it a few times before, because we all know when the sound is needed to happen - it doesn't. I explained that I wanted a few things done to the car as it was due for its 30,000 mile maintenance. So I had them do a few things, and I also asked that they updated the navigation system, and they put the nitrogen in my tires, which I was then informed that "you can do the update online, Nissan navigation dot com, you just input some information, pay a small fee and they'll send you a new SD card, and we don't have nitrogen here, but we can fill them up" to which I replied, okay- that's fine because they're low. I then explained how I was going to be out of town over the weekend, so they can keep the car if need be. He said "no worries, we'll give you a call later with an update", I left around 2pm. I received no call on Friday...Saturday...Sunday (I know they are closed)...or Monday..I called when I was leaving from Las Vegas, and asked to speak to Rob about 11:30am. I spoke with him, and I asked for an update for my car, and he said it was ready, said they didn't hear the noise even after they let the car run for a little bit, but didn't hear the noise , so the 30,000 maintenance might have fixed it. I picked up the car around 5:30pm (and was asked where I went as "hopefully it was good"), paid my bill, and drove my car home, which is about a 20-25 minute drive. As soon as I pulled in the driveway I heard the noise, called Rob and advised him that the noise was still being made. At this point I was frustrated, as I had received no calls for an update, and my car was not fixed for what I had brought it in there for. On top of not being fixed, my tires had not been filled with air like I asked. I explained to Rob that I was going to another dealer for them to fix it "tomorrow" because I work in Scottsdale. He then told me he would like the opportunity to make it right, and that just wasn't good for me. An opportunity to make it right? AutoNation had my car for 3 1/2 days, and "could not duplicate concerns at this time" Well maybe because it wasn't driven anywhere as mileage in/mileage out is the same? Needless to say, I took my car into the other dealer the next day, dropped it off, and within 2 hours they called me and had my car fixed. Turns out there was a bolt on the air filter housing that was loose. I don't know if that's covered in a multi-point inspection - but to not find a loose bolt on a housing might be something to cover.
