  • JMAC does business honestly. That's hard to believe in this day and age, but it's absolutely true. I bought a 5 ton unit from JMAC nine years ago and it has been heating/cooling my house flawlessly and economically ever since. Two days ago I came home from work and the temperature in the house was 84 degrees and climbing. The air wasn't blowing yet the compressor was humming. This had happened a few times before this year but was always easily corrected by turning it to heat for a few minutes and then back to cool. But since I live in Arizona and it's the middle of June, I called JMAC to come and check it out so I wouldn't have to worry about it during these brutal summer months ahead. Brandon Yanes, one of their tenured technicians, came to my home and listened to my very detailed description of my A/C unit's symptoms and what I would do to correct it the times it had happened previously. He went on the roof and checked it out. He was up there about 20 minutes, then came in the house to give me his assessment of the problem. It turned out to be just a simple, 2 pole contact switch that was stuck shut causing the compressor to run continuously and preventing the blower from coming on. A $75 part plus the $75 service call, so $150 out the door. Several of my friends have had to replace their exhaust fan motors here in AZ because of the harsh conditions, so I specifically asked him what he thought the chances were of that burning out this summer and causing me to have them come back out again this year. I was totally prepared and actually suggested that he replace it so that I wouldn't have to do it soon anyway. He went back up on the roof and thoroughly checked it out and advised me I should easily get a few more years out of it. My point is that I totally gave him the opportunity to sell me something I didn't need, but he said I don't need it and to not spend money on something that isn't necessary. What a refreshing display of honesty!! For that matter, he could've told me I needed a new compressor and I wouldn't have questioned it. I mean, the thing is going into its ninth summer in the most brutal heat on the planet. Seems like anything could happen to it and I should expect something major to happen to it soon. These people genuinely do business honestly. They don't try to sell you anything you don't need and keep your equipment running smoothly at minimal cost to you. If I could give them 10 stars, I certainly would.
