  • These guys literally just soft-opened today and plan to be totally open in about a week or two. Normally I stay away from most new businesses until they work out some of the inevitable kinks, but -- disclaimer -- I got offered the opportunity to try out their services for free & bring a friend, and I jumped on it. Brent and Heather were super nice from the time we walked in to the time we left (granted, we didn't see them most of the time we were there since we were floating!). Neither of us had ever been to a float center or spent any time in a sensory deprivation tank, and Brent happily told us all about the experience, as well as what his first time was like, which took away nearly all of any jitters we had about it. Each floater gets their own private room with a shower to rinse off pre-soak and wash up post-soak (trust, you'll want to get the salt off). The float tank is filled with a mixture of 25% water & 75% Epsom salts, so you're super buoyant! You get ear plugs to keep water out and to block outside sounds, and the room lights go out a few minutes after you enter the tank & close its door, so you can float in peace & quiet for an hour; some gentle music sounds when it's time to get out. The water's only 10 inches deep, and there's no danger of turning yourself over & drowning, even if you fall asleep (I didn't, but apparently it happens). It did take a little while for me to fully relax, but after that I really enjoyed my float time. They say some people experience visual and/or auditory hallucinations sometimes; I did not, but I was super relaxed by the end of my time. Apparently a 1-hr session goes for $59, and if there's no one else scheduled after you, they'll let you float for as long as you like! If you're looking for a relaxing alternative for massage, want to up your meditation game, or just feel like playing around in a super buoyant pool of water just for you, definitely check this place out!
