Arrived for appt on time. Gave front desk my insurance card and drivers licenses. Sat in waiting area 30 minutes. I was only person in waiting area. Was called after 30 minutes. During that 30 minutes observed check in staff wandering the hallways chatting with one another.
I asked check in clerk how long I would be waiting in the next room for my procedure. She looked at me with a glazed stare and said I have no idea. I asked for my insurance card and license to be returned. Told her that I was leaving. She seemed shocked.
My new policy, if I wait over a half hour for incompetent staff to get their act together, I'm out of there. My time is valuable. I am very tired of waiting outrageous lengths of time (hours) to be seen by medical personnel. I think waiting 30 minutes with no logical explanation for my wait is not happening anymore.
Was contacted by scheduling staff to arrange another appointment. Told them that I do not allocate a day for a simple procedure. They told me it was standard procedure that I wait 30 minutes before my paperwork was filled out. I told them I would see if my insurance would allow me to visit a different diagnostic facility. I will be contacting my insurance to be certain they are not charged for my lack of service.
