  • My family switched to U-verse earlier this year because we were told that it was better than Time Warner Cable. I have had nothing but problems with this company and would not recommend it as a cable, internet or phone provider. I will be calling to cancel all of my services. The internet speed is absolutely terrible and the cost to upgrade it is outrageous. I'm already paying double what I originally paid at TWC and the service is half as fast. In order to get faster internet speeds, your combined bill will be way over $200/month. Considering we live in a one-bedroom apartment, that type of cost is ridiculous. When I have called to discuss this with them, they are completely unwilling to provide us with any assistance unless we're willing to pay more. The land line has been a nightmare. I switched to "unlimited" minutes back in February of this year. However, they did not tell me that "unlimited" means that it is unlimited calling to other landlines, not cell phones. My first overage bill was in April of 2015 in the amount of approximately $26. At that time, I called U-verse to fix the problem and they told me that it was their mistake and they credited my bill. This month, I received an overage charge in the amount of approximately $130. I called again but was only informed this time that my plan did not cover unlimited calling to cell phones. While they did credit my bill again, they informed me that I would be responsible for charges going forward. With that said, I asked if they had any plans available that included "unlimited" calling to land lines AND cell phones. They do not have a plan available with that option. Is AT&T not a phone company? Is this not 2015? Who does that? I have had land lines through Comcast and Time Warner and never had this problem. Every time I call with an issue, it seems like I get off of the phone and my bill ends up higher than it was before. Do yourself a favor and don't bother switching to U-verse. It is a hassle and a rip-off. They simply do not care if you are unhappy with your service.
