  • I bought a groupon to try yoga at this location because it is close to my home. I have been practicing yoga for the past three years in many many places both in Toronto and outside. I can say with certainty that this was the worst place of all in different aspects: 1-After I presented the groupon, I was told to pay fees that were not included in the groupon, and when I gave them my credit card, they said that they would only take a credit card for a minimum purchase of 10 dollars! so they offered to charge me 10 dollars ( instead of the 3 dollar fee). when I asked them to just charge me whatever visa charges them instead ( probably 25 cents or so, they agreed to just not charge me any additional fees and just go with the 3 dollars!). 2- The instructor is also the receptionist so she locks the door once people are in. This also means you can't leave half way into the class! 3- Bikram yoga was about 10 degrees or so hotter than hot yoga. I can't say if that is better or worse but I was not comfortable with that. 4- The ventilation was bad. The class is a long but narrow room such that only two rows of students can fit. 5- The instructor had memorized the moves a little too much. She spoke as fast as auctioneers. It's a nice skill to have but not when you are a yoga instructor. She did every pose twice and she had memorized the words down to the ums and ohs. She wouldn't demonstrate the poses herself or correct anyone's poses either, so it was as if you had a recording playing at your home. no difference! except the recording was being played on FAST! 5- Every place I have been, they insist that the students know to not push themselves into painful poses. it goes : " if you feel pain, you have gone too far". but she kept saying : " if you don't feel pain, you aren't doing the pose right"... SERIOUSLY?! The poses were also bad for the neck and knees. She didn't ask about injuries and didn't give injury pose substitutes either. Even without an injury I found the poses too harsh, and please keep in mind I do hot, power, flow, etc regularly. 6- Every place I have been, they let you leave the room if you need to, specially if it's a hot room and not everyone has water. Or if anyone needs to go to the bathroom. She would not let people leave for a bathroom break in a 90 minute long class! 7- I was feeling dizzy in the class and just wanted to leave for a second to have some water and come back but she didn't let me! she didn't even let me go into child's pose. She insisted that I stay in the room to "benefit from the heat!!!". There is someone who has no clue what she is talking about! I can't emphasize how much I disliked my experience here. I really hope noone who is new to yoga or to hot yoga goes here because this is not what yoga is. I wish I could try another instructor here as well to see if they are all the same or not but I am too scared to try! My groupon for a full month of yoga is useless now.
