| - It has been years since I have had access to a bagel shop. When I was in Miami, I lived next to a great Jewish Bagel shop that made great bagel sandwiches that I would hit up all the time. But after moving to WV, I learned to make my own bagels, which were good but not quite up to par with the pros yet.
So seeing this place so close to home was nice. I stopped in for a bagel sandwich but didn't realize how big and happening this place was on a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, everyone was waiting for a table for Brunch, so I was able to make an order for take out right away at the deli.
The deli is packed with all sorts of goodies that send my mind into a diabetic coma. Chocolate fudge cake, black forest cake, NY cheesecake, Babka, rugelach, all forms of cookies, bagels, cream cheeses and deli meats. My mouth watered just thinking about it. :)
I ordered a toasted poppy seed bagel with eggs, cheddar cheese, and pastrami - plus a slice of chocolate fudge cake. One thing I figured out was they go big here. The slice of cake felt more like the whole cake, and the bagel was very big - I like that a lot.
Once I got home and digged into it, I was pretty pleased with it. Bagel was nicely toasted, and made for a good sandwich. The chocolate fudge cake is everything you would expect it to be - chocolaty and fudgy, lol. It is very large, and could easily have been cut into 3 slices that each would have been considered big.
While it is not quite as good as my old place, it is good enough to warrant me coming back. :)
