  • CAREFUL IT WILL COST YOU 79 BUCKS JUST FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT. Called 2 days ago for a plumber to come out and give me an estimate (there was no discussion of a trip charge). he came back with a price of 199.00 for a rebuild of my kitchen faucet, after looking at the sink for 2-3 minutes (the cost of many new nicer faucets at home depot or lowes) I told him I wouldnt pay it, and that for a rebuild that was ridiculus. So he tries to hand me a bill for a trip charge for 79.00 dollars. and says if I dont pay it I'm going to collections. 79.00 for 2-3 minutes of non-work the man never touched the valves I thought were leaking. Ridiculus. Any reputible company will tell you beforehand that there will be an estimate fee, or a trip charge, or somekind of fee attached if applicable to the service. however there are many, many companies out there that are trying to get your business that do estimates for free, and do not quote the job at double what it is worth just so you refuse and have to pay a absurd trip charge.
