  • So I've been here several times as it's close to work and for the most part the experience's have been decent. A little on the pricey side for a pub, but I assume the location the plays a part in that. However, today was an interesting experience. I went there for lunch with a colleague. We were alerted by the patrons in the booth behind us that there was a cockroach walking behind my colleague's head along the top of the booth's seating. My colleague picked up a napkin and grabbed the cockroach and brought it to the washroom. The manager came and spoke with the ladies apologizing and said their lunch would be complementary. Not a word to us. A minute later the ladies behind us once again said there was a cockroach walking along the wall of the booth, we were unsure if it was a different one or the same one had maybe escaped. Regardless, the server was a bit "grossed out" and the other patrons rightfully felt the same way. So I grabbed my napkin, grabbed the cockroach and flushed it down the toilet. Now I'm not one to look for a free meal but if you're going to comp a meal for one party, wouldn't it be appropriate to do it for the people who actually killed the bug and got rid of it? What I'm most upset with is, as a manger shouldn't you at least come and apologize or offer a thanks for doing this because my staff didn't really want to? Just because we didn't shriek or make a big scene, doesn't mean we weren't as grossed out. Worst part is, we didn't even get replacement napkins to the replace the one's we used to squish the cockroach.
