| - My friends and I stayed at the Delano for 4 days and 4 nights. We booked for the hotel for an extremely reasonable price for the value of the room, $900.
We booked a 2 queen suite, but upon arrival (2am), all the queen suites had been taken. Our reservation was given away because we booked through a third party. The receptionist was apologetic and attempted to see if there were any rooms at the Mandalay--there were not. She offered a $150 food/drink credit and gave us a 1 kind suite to stay in with a roll away bed. She informed us that we would receive a call about when a queen suite would be open the next day, so we could switch rooms.
We talked to two receptionists the next day and we're informed that they would call once a room was ready. It was getting frustrating that my party could not do anything in the case we would miss the phone call to switch rooms. On the third try, the receptionist, Vidi (AMAZING, HIGHLY RECOMMEND), was able to speak to the manager and switch our rooms immediately.
Both the king suite and the 2 queen suite are identical except the beds and that in the queen suite, there is a little seating area across the beds. We LOVED our stay at the Delano. Compared to literally all the other hotels, the Delano is very laid back and relaxing. It is dimly lit and adorned with beautiful art pieces. Not to mention, it always smelled DIVINE. The suites are beautiful, with a living room and couch and TV, 1.5 baths (amazing for 4 people), and comfy beds. The main bathroom has two sinks and a large, beautifully lit mirror.
The only downside about the Delano is that it is literally the last hotel on the south end of the strip, so walking takes a while. The upside is that there is a free tram that is easily accessible from the Mandalay Bay and takes you to the Luxor and Excalibur. We purchased 2 day unlimited monorail tickets for $16 online and it made traveling the strip much more convenient.
I would also not recommend ordering room service from the Delano. We ordered two orders of wings, a sandwich, and two pastas--which totaled to $140. The sandwich and wings were okay, but the pasta was awful and had absolutely no taste. Adding salt & pepper did not make it any better.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Delano for its atmosphere and its suites. It made our stay in Vegas unforgettable! Also seeing a new quote on the mirror when entering/exiting the elevators, made my day!
