I sent my nephew, who is a student at ASU, an e-card to buy food at Safeway when he called me and said he hadn't eaten today. He took it to this store and they were unable to scan the barcode from his phone because of their poor equipment and turned him away saying he needed to come back with a paper copy of the e-card. He asked if they could print it for him and the manager said no. He explained that he didn't have anything to eat and didn't have a printer at home. He also walked a mile to get there and couldn't get back before they closed anyway. He was turned away by the heartless manager, Edward, who knew that he would not eat. One star is too generous for this place who couldn't be bothered by a kid who they sent home hungry. I hope Edward's child never encounters the heartlessness that my nephew did tonight at Safeway.
I'll be calling the regional office tomorrow to lodge a complaint.
