This place is literally right across the street from Chinook. Took one look at the line at Globefish and drove out, turned left and was seated with a hot tea. Staff was very friendly and quick. Reading some other reviews I thought it would be pricey, but I thought the opposite. Generous size portions for sashimi, 15 pcs for $17.95. I would say that's cheaper than the handful I usually dine at. I was thoroughly impressed with the tempura and agedashi tofu as well. The batter is done light and there's a good variety of vegetables and 4 shrimp. I was getting really tired of eating batter that tastes like old gross oil from some other places.
Someone also mentioned that they have just the average Japanese menu.
Which is true, because they are a Japanese restaurant. Not a Japanese fusion - put random ingredients in a roll- restaurant. They do have some popular rolls like the BC roll, Alaska roll etc.
Momo sushi keeps the heart of Japanese fare genuine- simple and very well done.
Plus points for the ginormous tea pot they keep refilling, even without asking.
Plus even more points because I will admit I have eaten here before when they first opened. It wasn't even 4 stars. But it looks like they have made leaps and bounds and improved based on critique and feedback from customers.
That earns my respect and patronage.
