  • You see so many fossils in the granite slabs at Mont Granite, I started calling it the boneyard. Mont Granite only stocks granite or marble slabs & someone else fabricates the stone into whatever you're going to do with it. Their selection of granite slabs is amazing with everything graded from A-Z. Prices go up as you progress through the alphabet and those X-Z suckers get pricey! I ultimately was happy with our selection and they got it to our granite fabricator just as they were supposed to but their customer service left something to be desired. We made 3 trips there from start to finish: 1st was a scouting mission to decide what we liked and no one even bothered to talk to us while we were there; 2nd trip we were again on our own to figure everything out and once we selected our slab, we wandered the warehouse searching for an employee to try and buy it. That's when we discovered almost everything in the front of each pile of slabs was already tagged & sold so we'd have to return with a weekday appointment to see the interior slabs pulled out by a crane to inspect & pick one. Some granite slabs have very funky veins or giant flaws running through them, so you need to examine them. The 3rd trip to inspect went fine & ultimately our kitchen is beautiful. The best thing about Mont Granite is definitely their location right next door to Sharp Edge - wandering a giant granite warehouse makes you thirsty & you probably will need a beer!
