  • This review is based on my experience with Dr. Shalev for myself and my husband which I was with him at all appointments. My husband seemed to have a simpler case. We saw Dr. Shalev once and he gave some suggestions and bandaged up my hubby's ankle and about 6 months later the pain returned. My hubby got a cortisone shot in his ankle and said he felt like he had a new foot. Compared to the hubby that was limping around and limited physical activity and lifestyle, I was happy he was feeling better. He even went snowboarding that weekend! Now on to my experience for my foot. I have plantar fasciitis on one foot and woke up with so much pain I could not walk. I hopped on one foot to get around and after 11 days I could not handle it anymore. I called this office and an appointment was available the same day. He gave me a cortisone shot in my heel-ouch! 5 stars for giving me an appointment right away. 5 stars for not being an overpacked office and not feeling rushed at all. It is very important to me to go to a doctor and not feel rushed. I want to be able to ask a million questions and not feel like I am bothering the dr. Here I could ask my million questions and joking around with me to ease the nerves. I even commented that I forgot he was a dr at some point because he turned my laughs to tears then tears to laughs and I feel that is important with a dr too. 5 stars for good "bedside manners." 4 stars total only because I wanted a new foot feeling like my hubby did. Dr. said the shot may take 24 hours to 48 hours to kick in and I am hoping that it will still kick in. It is better than before but after getting a painful shot I still feel pain and am limping around. :( I want to get back to excercising and I am very limited right now with my heel pain. He did warn me that the shot may not work or may work for less time than my hubby, and it is different for everyone. So I understand that it is different for everyone, but I of course want it to work for me and I am still hopeful I can feel better soon to get back to my regular lifestyle. This office also offers orthopedic shoe inserts.
