GREAT EXPERIENCE. Very expensive. Bring lots of cash and quarters.
Don't let the cost scare you away because this really was such a cool wild animal park. It's not a zoo, these animals roam in large open spaces, and you get up close and personal with these furry or feathered friends. Animals come right up to the safari trams. We had a huge ostrich come chasing after us, I posted the video somewhere under this listing. There even is a Kangaroo walk about where you walk into the kangaroo exhibit. I didn't even get this close to the kangaroos when I was down under.
PRICE: Admission $44 for 2 (me and my daughter) which included $3 off coupon per person from Phoenixkids.com. Credit cards ok when you buy your tickets.
You will need quarters to feed the giraffes, ducks, and animals in the petting zoo. You can get some at the gift shop when you purchase your tickets or just remember to BRING QUARTERS. I didn't have any quarters but other people were nice and shared their food with us.
Spent another $44 (cash only) for the following rides.
SAFARI TRAM - ride in the animal areas. Definitely worth the extra $5.
Sky tram - soar above the park and see the animals. RECOMMEND
Boat tour - skip, this was kind of boring.
Train tour - not bad but if you have to choose, do the SAFARI tram over this one.
Log ride - only chance I had to see the aquarium. You may get wet. It's like the ride at Disneyland where you ride a log, Splash Mountain.
PETTING ZOO is free but watch out for those hungry goats! They were eating holes in this guys shirt! And sucking on this lady's collar! And eating pretty much anything and everything.
WHITE ALLIGATOR. Don't forget to stop and see this rare beauty. White alligators don't survive in the wild for obvious reasons, so go say hi to this rare reptile.
My daughter didn't want to leave this place so this trip was well worth it. I've been to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park a bunch of times and I actually liked THIS place better.
