| - Dr. Reuss is old-school in all the right ways and contemporary in all the right ways. I've been going to Dr. Reuss (pronounced Royce) for about 8 months or so after getting a recommendation from a preggo friend (and also seeing firsthand how great her pregnancy was thanks to the doc). I first started going as a gyno patient, and now that I'm pregnant myself, he's my OB as well!
The first thing I love about Dr. Reuss is that he understands that he's a man in a woman's world... literally. I was pretty nervous before my first appointment having never had a male ob/gyn, but I think he completely understands that and runs his practice as such. What I mean is that, for example, when I went in for my annual check-up, we started the appointment in his office with the door closed. He asked me all of the questions you'd expect during your first appointment, and when he was finished, he told me he would meet me in the exam room. A female nurse led me in, told me where to change and what to do, and in about 5 minutes Dr. Reuss was in the room. He did my full exam in, I kid you not, less than 5 minutes. And here's the best part: instead of trying to start a weird dialogue with me while my legs were in stirrups, he did the exam, was incredibly professional the entire time, and after he finished, he said "great, go ahead and get dressed and I'll meet you back in my office." One of my biggest pet peeves with past ob/gyns is that they try to have these intense and awkward conversations with you at the same time that they are completely violating your personal space. That's not what you get with Dr. Reuss, and it makes you understand the importance of finding a great doctor.
Now that I'm pregnant, my appointments have been very similar. He invites my husband in for all of our ultrasounds, he answers all of our questions in lamens terms, and he makes us feel at-ease all the time.
The other best part of this practice? Dr. Reuss uses an online portal for all of your patient records. So if you have to take a blood test or a urine test, etc., instead of waiting weeks to get a call from the doctor on the results, he posts them immediately directly to your portal. This portal also allows you to ask him questions without having to call the office. The longest I've ever had to wait for a response was about 12 hours... and that was because I asked the question around 9am on a Sunday.
If you're looking for an awesome gyno or an awesome OB, or both, I cannot recommend Dr. Reuss more.
