| - He seemed nice enough when we contacted him. And based on the pictures from some of the events he had done in the past, we felt that our event was going to be over the top. Unfortunately, the old adage applies...looks can be deceiving.
When he arrived, he and the DJ (I'll get to him in a minute) started setting up. I checked on him periodically while attending to our guests and he seemed to be getting things together. However, as more guests continued to arrive, I saw he was having a problem with the photo booth we contracted to have setup. Long story short, not only was the photo booth over 30 minutes late in being completely setup, I had to assist him in resolving some communication issues between the PC & the printer...it's like he didn't know how to use his own stuff. In fact, at one point he offered me a refund saying that he was giving up on getting it to work, which is when I fixed it. Now on to the DJ. This had to be one the worst DJ's I've ever been around. This guy was unprofessional, didn't know how to hype up a crowd, and was more interested in hanging out and having a good time. Wait? Isn't the DJ supposed to make sure my guests are having a good time and not the other way around. To make matters worse, there was a point in the event when we wanted to make a speech and when I went to the DJ to ask for the mic, guess what? They forgot to bring the mic? When have you ever heard of a DJ forgetting to bring a microphone? Finally, after the event, he agreed to send us the raw photos from the photo booth which we were planning to use for Christmas cards. Despite many phone calls, texts and e-mails stating that he would send them, he simply never did. I even left him a voicemail saying that if he failed to send them that I would post my experience to any and all social media sites that I could find...and still he never responded. Look, I'm a reasonable guy. I tried to work with him. I was as nice as I could be given the circumstances, but I can't do it anymore. Bottom line, save your money and don't threaten ruining a special event you have planned in the future with this outfit. Bliss? More like despair.
