| - I've been coming to this location since it was Surprise Eye Care in 2005. I'm perplexed with the negative reviews??? Dr. Erik Ornstein is the best eye doctor, hands down. This is a doctor that's very patient and kind, he cares deeply for everyone he helps and I mean helps! My daughter, wife and I all go here because Dr. O as he's known, doesn't take his profession lightly and spends the time to do things right. I'm offended with the negative review, you're ignorant if you can't understand what Dr. O said to you. Anne F, don't come back, go to Walmart where you belong. As far as the selection of frames, most people have gone to contacts, however, I do wear both. I'm able to get an idea of what I want from their selection and then I have them pull out one of their many books full of every frame you can imagine. They can order in a few pairs and you can decide which one or two you really want. Custom crafted crap in an hour is exactly what you get. Quality takes time folks. My daughter was three when she woke up and one of her pupils was missing and my wife and I could only see white of her eye. We freaked out and obviously thought the worst (brain tumor) something horrible. We took her to Phoenix Children's Hospital and it was 3:00am when we were finally seen, the doctor wanted to do a CT scan (lots of radiation) and I was concerned. I called Dr. O and left a message on his emergency line, HE CALLED AT 3:15am and I explained the situation to him. He said "Don't do the CT scan, she needs to see a pediatric ophthalmologist, I will give you a referral, come by at 7:00am." They don't answer their phone? Think again Anne F (I wonder what the F stands for). It's been nine years since Dr. O gave us that extremely timely advice and this review was brought on by a recent visit to Kokopelli Eye, for my daughter. My daughters vision has improved, however she was having problems, Dr. O got us right in and spent 45 minutes doing a refraction and other tests. He gave my daughter a trial pair of contacts and as we left my daughter exclaimed "This is the best I've ever seen dad!" Taking the time to do things correctly makes all the difference. I've known Dr. O for over 12 years, he's the best and has proven himself time after time. I can only imagine what mitigating circumstances Anne (F) brought on herself, but don't blame Dr. O because you've obviously got the problem. No doubt, had you brought things to the attention of Dr. O without acting psychotic, everything would have been resolved beyond what's called for. I know this because, I've been around Dr. O and know he's a man of integrity. You don't flame somebody and/or their business because you're ignorant. Kokopelli Eye is top notch, if you want a major chain that treats you like cattle, don't come here. This is where you come when you need perfection and perfection takes time. I would give this place a sixth star if I was able to.
