  • If you want top dollar partying with the best looking crowd in Vegas and the country's best DJ's, then Wet Republic is your summer hot spot! Located at the MGM, it might as well be located at Paris: From the front desk to the pool, it's about a mile walk - no joke. Better wear some comfy shoes. When you get out to the hotel's pool, you've still got quite a ways to go to get to the Ultra Pool, so don't get overly excited yet. The pool line gets crazy by around 1pm, so it's best to get there early. Cover is around $50 for guys and $30 for girls, if you can find a promoter in the hotel you can often get your girl in for free. Locals can also sometimes get a discount or get on a VIP list with a connection. Don't think you'll be able to sneak in alcohol, a bottle of water, some sun block or really anything for that matter. Security is UBER tight! - I only brought a small clutch with me but they went through every inch of it, they even checked between my credit cards! (I give kudos to anyone who can hide something there in the first place.) They turned on my phone to make sure it was real - who are the spies who once snuck in drugs or alcohol in their pretend phones in the past? I have to meet these people! They also confiscated my friend's unopened pack of gum. Apparently it's suspicious? Who are we kidding? WOW! Once inside the music is pumpin'! They truly do host the best DJ's in town - for Memorial weekend alone they hosted DeadMau5, Tiesto, Calvin Harris and more! There's no lack of eye candy for guys or gals. The best of the best are out showing off their bodies for all to enjoy (no not topless). Not saying everyone there is a supermodel, but a large percentage of the crowd are the beautiful people. If you don't rent a cabana you'll have a difficult time finding a place to sit, set your drink, place a towel, etc. This place is just crazy packed! They have some lockers for your personal items (bring coins), but it's a bit of a hassle so most don't use them. The bathroom lines are a joke. They have restrooms in two areas, but expect to wait behind 20-30 other people before getting in (the guys' line is just as long). We joked about how many people were just peeing in the pool because the lines were so ridiculous. The drinks are where they really get you. Since you can't bring in anything, not even a bottle of water they know you'll need to hydrate from all that sun. Beers = $10 no matter if it's Bud light, Corona, or Heineken. Want a mixed or specialty drink? 16oz. drinks = $18, 32oz. drinks = $34 - unless you order red bull in your drink, then it's even more! To sum it up: If you have a pretty penny to spend, can afford a cabana so you have bottle service, somewhere to sit and some shade, then this is definitely where you'd want to be this summer. Conversely, if you're on a budget, then I suggest you find a friend with a backyard pool, turn up the radio and throw your own party.
