| - It is my delight to be able to write this review after living here for a year. Let's just say my disgust with the management, facilities, and apartment has been accumulating since BEFORE we moved in, and to this day I feel it is my personal obligation to keep people from choosing The Pointe as their home. I have absolutely NO idea how this place gets 4/5 star ratings, I don't think those reviews are real. Yes, its that bad.
The week before move-in, I called to be sure we could come a day early to pick up the keys because I had gotten extra time off work to move. Doran (who still works there) said yes and not to worry, they were expecting me. Well, they ended up not being ready for me because not only did the Manager have to get involved because she hadn't been notified of this, but the day of move-in, I opened the door to the WRONG apartment. They gave us the layout we did NOT agree to. But that was nothing compared to the fact it was FILTHY. The floor has holes, the cabinets has knife marks & swinging on hinges, the carpets had huge black spots....this place literally looked, smelled, felt like meth addicts lived here. Of course I called Brandon so he could see and he got the maintenence team to see what they could fix asap. What a NIGHTMARE. By this time I'm debating whether we should get our money back and go somewhere else. But we were told our refund could take weeks, and we didn't have that kind of time! So I decide to give it another chance. The SAME NIGHT, I'm standing on the patio looking at the sunset with a friend and talking about what had happened, and we go inside to turn on the lights and we see ROACHES scatter all over the place. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I have never been a victim of pests, we are clean people, and this was ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. So we ended up keeping everything in the uhaul, sleeping at our family's house, and called them in the morning saying that they need to find us another apartment or we're gone. They say sorry and that they had no reports of roaches, and that there was no other similar layout available for a MONTH. Why I was stupid enough to keep trying to work with these people, I will never know. But we spoke with the management and they said the bigger 2 bedroom was available immediately but we'd have to pay the difference in rent. HELL NO. At this point they owed US money for making us keep our uhaul, accruing SRP fees for moving to 2 different apartments, and for all the BS we had to deal with! So they hesitantly gave us their would-be model for the same price as our 1st crappy apartment. But they refused to pay for the uhaul, or SRP....like you do know we're getting charged extra because of YOU, right?! In hindsight, we should've gotten an attorney involved. So now 2 days later we're moved in, feeling slightly better, and while I'm unpacking (in my skivvies because lets face it, its my home right?) a maintenence guy unlocks our door and walks right in and sees me. I call the office just LIVID because no one seems to be capable of communicating ANYTHING to ANYONE. It happened THREE FREAKIN TIMES.
I'm running out of room to write but just know that over the next year we experienced mold growing on the walls, sinks, bathtub, toilet (yes we cleaned all the time). They told us where our parking spot was but it was wrong for more than 6 months (still don't have their sh*t together). They didn't "receive" our online rent even though the bank showed it was taken. We went WEEKS without maintenance to our plumbing issues. The dishwasher had to be bleached often. Blinds were cheap. Flooring is cheap. Cabinets are SUPER cheap.These apartments are NOT renovated, they are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP (not the good kind). Not worth $1100/month rent. You can find better up the street! Leaving in the morning is impossible, parking is impossible. Pools are gross and small. NO fitness center. Don't expect good management. Don't expect to be happy. DONT believe anything Doran says because 100% of the time, it's not true. And DONT LIVE HERE.
