I'll preface this by saying I understand this is a budget motel. It's not a boutique hotel, but there are some things that cannot be overlooked. Upon checking in we were told check in was at 2 p.m. despite a sign saying "check in" at 11 a.m. After checking into our room we discovered a crushed beer can hiding in a desk drawer, an empty condom wrapper in the shower, and a lovely patch job on a wall.
Management was quick to follow up and change our room, but couldn't seem to recognize that excuses weren't what I wanted to hear. You shouldn't need to make excuses for why your staff are doing an inadequate job of what might be the most important factor to a motel: cleaning. My suggestion? Review the cleaning basics and never make excuses for your shortcomings.
