We unfortunately needed a Pediatric ER twice in AZ for our young son. Once we arrived via ambulance after a seizure and the other was for stomach pain/throwing up that we thought could be appendicitis. Both times we were taken back and examined within minutes of arrival and seen by doctors within 20 minutes or less. We feel our son received spot-on care and medical advice/treatment both times and thankfully everything turned out good for him.
Now, fast forward a couple years, and we've since moved to TX... Our son unfortunately had another seizure and was rushed by ambulance to a children's hospital in Fort Worth. Instead of being taken back immediately, we were sent to a general waiting room and waited 5 HOURS... NO CARE, NO DOCTOR, NO TREATMENT, NO EXAM. We gave up and left and were able to find a pediatrician to see him in his office. We did get a nice fat bill from the hospital though (which I am fighting). Afterwards, I told my husband that if we ever need ER care again, we should fly back to AZ and go to Cardon. It would be faster to see a doctor and he would be better taken care of.
So, if you are fortunate enough to live near Cardon, be thankful. You could be near Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. Ugh...
Thanks Cardon for the great care you gave us when we lived in AZ! We miss you terribly! :)
