  • My partner and I stayed at the Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel for one night during a snowstorm, and while the hotel itself is fine, the staff here made for a rather miserable stay. We did not plan on staying here. There was a snow storm in Montreal the night we were leaving, and so many flights were canceled. Of course, then all the airport hotels start to fill up, and it's a madhouse. At the same time, this is Montreal, and snowstorms and cancelled flights cannot exactly be some anomaly here. The Sheraton should have had a better plan in place for a bunch of coming cancellations, because they can see the weather report just like the airports can. The check-in process was a nightmare, and that was because of the sheer ineptitude of the two people working that night. Yes, you get different staff at different times of the day, but here, the woman in the front literally took five minutes to set up a wake up call in the morning. How does that take five minutes? There were roughly 30 to 40 people on line for three hours straight, and while I'm sure they were an irritable bunch to deal with given the circumstances, that's the precise wrong time to have bad staff. The restaurant was also a nightmare, but less so because no one was really in a rush. We hightailed it out of there in the morning to catch our flight, and didn't bother with the breakfast. The room is self was fine - a typical Sheraton. We had an executive room, but considering we only spent about 12 hours here, it didn't really matter. Most of the amenities were closed or not operating during our brief stay. Overall, this is an airport hotel just like any other. I personally prefer Sheratons to Hiltons, and so this brand was better than the average Hilton-branded airport hotel in the same category. Since the airline paid for our room, I can't really price compare. I just hope that the Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel has contingency plans when the weather gets bad, since the whole point of an airport hotel just to be close to an airport and service the needs of customers there - that didn't happened during our stay.
