  • We loved our Pink Jeep tours! Recently, while in Las Vegas we took two tours: one to Valley of Fire and one to Red Rock Canyon. The jeep picks you up at your hotel and drops you off there too. LOVED that feature! Jeeps have solid AC, plenty of complimentary waster (drink up! You don't feel thirsty but our tour guide told us we are losing moisture anyway!) very comfortable seating and a microphone so you can hear the driver. The Good: -the jeeps are custom built and easy to climb in and out of. I have a hip replacement and was on crutches. I had no problem accessing the jeep. You sit in air conditioned comfort on nice captains chairs. There are two chairs together on the drivers side and one chair on the passenger side with four rows. You are a little elevated for a better view. -My son and I took the valley of fire tour while my boyfriend was at a training/conference. The people on the tour had no problem adjusting seating so we could sit together. However on the Red Rock Canyon tour my boyfriend had to sit up front and was a little bummed we didn't get to share the experience while riding. - the guides. Bob, our Valley of Fire tour guide on Monday, was great. Informative and enthusiastic, he gave us amazing details and factoids. In fact, we took a Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon tour with a different company on Wednesday (don't bother ... stick w pink jeep!) and saw Bob on the Hoover Dam! He was leading a tour and greeted my son with a hug and they had their photo taken together on the dam. My son has special needs so this was exceptionally nice for him to think that he'd really made a friend. We don't always see that kind of kindness and warmth. Thank you Bob. -consideration. Bob also ran ahead, starting the AC in the jeep b4 we climbed in, making sure we not only had adequate rest stops (5 on a 6-8 hr tour) but that our jeep members had time to view the museum and buy souvenirs. Paramount for kids! Can't have enough knick knacks in the house, right? Our guide on Saturday for Red Rock Canyon, Jim, was informative as well. It was a much shorter tour, but he really knew his stuff, was professional and courteous. Both men showed a true love of nature, and seemed to really care about their passengers. I never felt rushed. W -Lunch. Was good. Sandwich, chips and water. It did the job. -we saw a desert tortoise in the wild! A very rare occurrence. We were thrilled! The Bad: It seemed like one passenger always ended up in the front with the driver. If one were traveling alone it would be ok but it's tough to be separate from the rest of your party. My boyfriend drew the short straw on our Red Rock Canyon tour on Saturday. After he missed all the other tours all week that was a bit of a bummer to sit apart. Maybe only put singles there? Idk. It separates them from the rest too. Hard call. The Ugly: The ugly truth is that you get what you pay for. We took a different tour company on a different day bc it cost a few shekels less. Don't do it! Go Pink Jeep all the way. You won't regret it! A final note: I realize that tours and tour guides fluctuate but Pink Jeep were, by far, more professional, better scheduled (plenty of time to see the sights and not get bored!) and, in a nutshell, more fun! we all felt like we got the full tour! (There were only two hikes I couldn't do on crutches!) Yay!
