I have to say that the experience started off good but left me with a bad impression of the business. I submitted a request online via their website to see what the estimated cost would be. I received a call from Allen early in the next morning to set up an appointment which I appreciated the promptness. I didn't set up the appointment right then as I was awaiting further estimates. Once I determined that I would go with 5 Star, I called Allen back to confirm an appointment for the next day (Saturday) at 3pm. Everything was set. The appointment time came on Saturday and no movers. I waited an hour and a half and called Allen to see if they were still coming. He called me back and stated that all of his trucks were still out and would be another hour before they finished. He stated that he meant to call me but never did. He offered to have movers out the next morning (Sunday) to complete the move. I went ahead with the appointment even though it was going to mess up my schedule for that day. Disappointing to say the least.
Sunday came and the movers called right at the time they were supposed to be there (8 am) to get directions. No GPS? They arrived 30 minutes late. Once they got started, it only took 30 minutes to get the little bit of items moved from an upstairs room into the truck. I was a bit worried because the movers seemed to not be as careful in avoiding banging up the walls as I expected them to be. All of the items were moved into storage with no problem. When it came time to sign the paperwork, I came to find out that the movers weren't even 5 Star Movers!! They were Carolina Pack n Load. In fact, when I questioned the mover, he had no idea what I was talking about and didn't know that I would be using a LivingSocial voucher for the transaction. It was very disappointing that Allen nor someone actually from 5 Star Movers were there. I paid for a 2-hour voucher and only had an hour worth of moving. Feel like I really wasted money and I can't get a refund at this point. I can't say that I would use them again or recommend their services. Wish I had checked Yelp first.
