The manager's response MIGHT be true for some other customer, but it cannot possibly be true in our case. The installers offered to leave the largest remnant piece with us, and it is 24 inches square. That means the manager's excuse is either mistakenly confusing us with a different customer, or is a bald-faced lie. It's inconceivable to me that any business of this size values strong-arming a customer out of an extra $150 than the goodwill they would have gotten by admitting their omission of information when we were choosing our slabs and just letting it go.
