  • I was introduced to The Wine Bar at Solaire by a good friend (and local resident of Hudson) who jokingly exclaimed, "Tonight I'm going to take you to the best restaurant around here...that I hope no one discovers!" He explained to me that he loves this place so much that he fears a time when he might not be able to get a seat. I now completely understand and consider myself very lucky to find out exactly why he covets this place so much! Accessed by what you think is a simple service stair case, unless you are a member of Club 33 at Disneyland you might wonder at first if you've come to the right place...until you enter the upstairs door to this simple, but attractively appointed restaurant and bar. The restaurant is actually located above a wonderful hair salon and spa by the name Solaire. Although hidden from an obvious street view, this gem of a restaurant and wine bar has much to offer! Perhaps the best description of this place really is that it is a "gem". The food, service and staff were delightful! The menu features exquisite Mediterranean / French cuisine and specially chosen wines from around the world. While the wine offering isn't comprehensive, what we chose (and were offered) was wonderful. Whatever you do, I definitely recommend that you order the bruschetta and the sautéed scallops for appetizers...and the molten chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. What you order in addition to these items, I'm quite sure you will be happy that you did. My friend and I sat at the bar and enjoyed our food and wine while chatting with our server/bartender - who was polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about food, wine and music. It was a delightful evening that I look forward to repeating on my next visit to Hudson.
