| - I've been going to this place for years. Then I find out on my last visit that the wonderful dentist who was there has sold the practice and retired, which was quite a surprise. I was disappointed, because it's hard to find a good dentist that you can really trust. Also, it would have been nice to have been informed of the new ownership before my appointment. I decided to give the new dentist a try, though, and she was fine.
Afterwards, I made my next six month check up like I always do. Yesterday they called and left a message asking me to call them back to confirm my appointment coming up next week. This is annoying- if I have an appointment, it's recorded in my iCal and I show up. I can understand reminder calls, or even text confirmations, but demanding people call the office back (not even text, which would be much easier) and confirm they are coming to the appointment they've made is pretty pushy and irritating in my opinion. I was very busy yesterday, but today I called them back to confirm that I will be at my appointment next week and was informed that since they hadn't heard back from me right away they gave my appointment away! Seriously?! I've had this on my calendar for months and made plans for children so I would be able to go, and my appointment is still days away! I also did what they wanted and called them back to confirm per their (irritating) request, but they still gave my appointment away with no warning! Obviously, I will now be looking for a new dentist.
